Microfluidics & Consumables
Microfluidics offer similar advantages in the liquid biopsy realm as many liquid biopsy methods are based on immunological assays. In addition, the ability to customize geometries and workflows enables a variety of additional techniques for liquid biopsy such as size based sorting / enrichment or hydrodynamic focusing. Microfluidics can simplify workflows by including washing, mixing, and incubation on a single chip with additional features as required by the application for enriching or isolating cells of interest. Multiplexing several chips in parallel or multiple pathways on a single chip enables larger samples to be processed while maintaining the advantages of defined microenvironments and addressing cells at the single cell level. Microfluidics are also suited for integrated detection of isolated cells whether that be optically or electronically.
