During this webinar you will learn how Semrock filters can dramatically improve microscope performance. We will cover a) How optimally designed and manufactured optical filters can dramatically affect imaging performance of fluorescence microscopes; b) Spectral and non-spectral design considerations for optical filters for a wide variety of fluorescence microscopy applications; and c) Producing accurate, quantitative spectral evaluation of fluorescence measurement systems.

Dr. Raimund J. Ober, renowned co-founder of the Ward Ober Lab at Texas A&M University, were early innovators in building systems that provide microscopic imaging that is not constrained to a single focal plane. It's termed Multifocal Plane Microscopy or MUM. Learn how optical filters play an important role in this application.

LED-based light engines are steadily replacing traditional mercury, metal-halide and xenon light sources in fluorescence microscopy. As the spectral output of LED-based light sources differs from that of traditional sources, optical filter sets which were designed to take advantage of the peaks of the traditional sources, may now be sub-optimal for use with LED-based light engines. Semrock is now offering fourteen sets in single-band, full Pinkel & Sedat multiband configurations designed to be spectrally aligned with the excitation output of the most popular LED light engines on the market today.
